Data & Strategy

Analytics

Marketing measurement is useful when people understand what has been collected, what has not, and how each system defines the numbers it reports. We start with the commercial questions, design the measurement required to answer them, validate the implementation and document the limitations before building dashboards or attribution narratives around the data.

In short

Create reliable measurement across acquisition, behaviour and conversion so decisions are based on business outcomes rather than disconnected platform metrics.

  • Measurement requirements defined before tagging
  • Tracking tested against known scenarios
  • Data limitations and definitions documented
01The Problem

Why marketing data becomes difficult to use.

01

Tracking implemented without a measurement plan

Events are collected because the platform can collect them, rather than because they answer a commercial question. The result is more data without necessarily producing better evidence.

02

Duplicate or missing conversions

Multiple tags, conflicting triggers, thank-you-page reloads, cross-domain journeys and CRM imports can produce missing, duplicated or misclassified outcomes if the implementation is not tested against known scenarios.

03

Different systems treated as though they should match

GA4, advertising platforms and CRM systems can legitimately report different numbers because they use different event definitions, attribution models, windows, timestamps, identities and processing rules. A discrepancy is not automatically a tracking fault.

04

Dashboards without definitions

A polished dashboard remains difficult to trust when nobody can explain where a metric came from, which filters affect it or which business decision it is intended to support.

02Outcomes

Measurement objectives.

These are the objectives we agree and measure against. We do not publish performance figures we cannot evidence.

Validated measurement

Important events tested against documented scenarios so known implementation errors can be identified and corrected.

Decision-specific source of truth

Define which system should answer which question instead of forcing every platform to produce the same total.

Attribution context

Understand how different attribution models assign credit without presenting modelled channel credit as proof of causation.

Commercial connection

Connect marketing activity with CRM, ecommerce or offline outcomes where reliable identifiers and systems permit.

Measurement governance

Maintain definitions, ownership and validation procedures so the measurement setup remains understandable as the site and team change.

03Scope

The analytics scope.

Measurement architecture

Define business questions, conversion hierarchy, event taxonomy, values, dimensions and systems of record before implementation begins.

Tracking implementation and validation

Implement or repair GA4, Google Tag Manager and relevant platform tracking, then test important events, deduplication, parameters, domains and journey scenarios against expected behaviour.

Consent and storage/access configuration

Map which tags, cookies and other storage or access technologies are used for statistical measurement, advertising or other purposes, then configure the technical behaviour around the organisation's chosen compliance approach.

Search and acquisition data

Configure Search Console and relevant advertising integrations while documenting the limitations of each source rather than treating exported platform data as complete ground truth.

CRM and offline measurement

Connect appropriate lead, opportunity, sale or offline-event data where identifiers, integrations, permissions and platform requirements make reliable matching possible.

Reporting, attribution and governance

Build reporting around agreed decisions, reconcile major differences between systems and document attribution assumptions, metric definitions, ownership and validation procedures.

04Methodology

How measurement is built.

Stage 01

Question

Define the commercial decisions the measurement needs to support.

Stage 02

Plan

Specify events, key outcomes, values, dimensions, consent behaviour, systems of record and validation scenarios.

Stage 03

Implement

Configure the required analytics, tag-management, platform and CRM connections without collecting data merely because a tool makes it available.

Stage 04

Validate

Test known scenarios, duplicate prevention, parameters, attribution inputs, consent states and cross-system handoffs before relying on the reports.

Stage 05

Govern

Document definitions, dashboards, limitations, ownership and a validation schedule so changes to the website or platforms do not silently degrade measurement.

06Deliverables

What you receive.

How success is measured

  • Pass/fail results against documented event test cases
  • Duplicate, missing and malformed event findings
  • Variance between platform, analytics and CRM outcomes with explanations where identifiable
  • Consent-state and tag-behaviour validation
  • Data completeness for critical commercial fields
  • Dashboard and metric adoption by intended decision-makers
  • Tracking incidents detected after site or platform changes
  • Measurement architecture and event specification
  • GA4 and Tag Manager implementation or remediation
  • Conversion and key-event validation
  • Consent and storage-access configuration review
  • Search Console and advertising-platform integration review
  • CRM or offline-conversion integration where included
  • Attribution and cross-system reconciliation framework
  • Decision-focused dashboards
  • Metric dictionary and tracking documentation
  • Validation and governance checklist
07Fit

Who this is for.

A strong fit

  • Businesses that cannot explain important differences between their current reports
  • Companies increasing spend and needing better measurement governance
  • Teams moving between analytics, advertising or CRM platforms
  • Businesses with ecommerce, lead or offline conversion steps to connect

Probably not the right fit

  • Anyone wanting a dashboard built before the underlying measurement has been defined and validated
09Evidence

How we evidence our work.

We have no published case studies for this service yet, and we will not invent them. This is the standard our work is held to instead.

01

Baseline before work begins

Visibility, traffic quality, conversion and enquiry volume are recorded before anything changes, so improvement is provable rather than asserted.

02

Documented method

Every change is logged with the reasoning behind it — you can always see what was done, when, and why.

03

Reporting against agreed measures

We report on the commercial measures set at the outset, including the ones that did not move.

04

Published only when verifiable

Client outcomes appear on this site only once they are real, measurable and approved by the client.
